Training/Workshops
Available internationally in English and Spanish, these presentations range from an hour up to three days. While the ideal group size is 15-40 to allow for fruitful discussion, larger groups can be accommodated. Presentations usually begin with an overview of FASD: causes, prevalence, signs and patterns, and general principles of intervention. Kathy tailors her material to the particular concerns of the audience, whether family, juvenile justice, mental health, substance abuse, corrections, social work, education, homelessness--or employees at work. The third part of the presentation presents approaches and intervention techniques that have been successful within the specific context of the group at hand.
Consultation
When agencies or professionals (especially medical, mental health and legal) realize that their most frustrating clients may be the ones dealing with fetal alcohol damage, they can ask for help in problem-solving, either for individual cases or agency-wide policy changes. Kathy is available for one-time consultation, a scheduled series of meetings, or on an as-needed basis. While she prefers in-person, telephone or email consultation is also available.
Mitigation/Expert Witness Testimony
Kathy has experience with, and is available for, capital case mitigation investigation and expert witness testimony.
Guidance, Coaching and Advocacy--Families and Individuals
Families raising children with fetal alcohol damage sometimes benefit from guidance, coaching or advocacy. Adults with FASD, once they recognize a need for help, also benefit. Kathy approaches this work with great respect and creativity, and has been able to help families and individuals achieve happier, more productive lives.
Fees
Whole day presentation (6-8 hours): $1500.00
Half day presentation (3-4 hours): $750.00
Consultation (includes mitigation or testimony): $150/hour
Guidance, coaching and advocacy: $50/hour
